Every year,  in late June or early July, the Cat Fanciers’ Association has their Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet.   CFA is divided up into competitive areas around the world due to quarantine rules  – there are 9 regions that cover North America, Europe, and Japan that compete together for National Awards; an International Division that covers parts of Asia and competes separately, and another in China.   The awards banquet rotates between the seven North American regions for all of CFA, and this year our home region, Midwest Region 6, was the host region in the windy city of Chicago!

The cats of Slava were well represented at this year’s awards banquet!   For the third year in a row, a Slava cat was Best of breed for the Siberians, and for the second year in a row, a Slava cat was also second best of breed!    This year’s winner’s were:  Best of Breed –  GC, BWR, RW Slava Imagine My Surprise and Second Best of Breed – GC, RW Slava Call Me Regal.   Additionally, our graduate, GP, NW Slava Charisma of Cyberkoshki achieved a first for Siberians in CFA – the title “National Winner (NW)” (25 highest scoring cats of all breeds in a competitive class) in Premiership (spay/neuters).
